Wireless Communication Devices (WCD)

• Wireless communication devices (including, but not limited to, cell phones and smart watches) are not allowed to be used during the school day by elementary students. This is School Board policy.
• Cell phones must be on silent and in students’ backpacks at all times. Students may not answer phone calls or texts on watches or cell phones during the school day.
• If cell phones are found to be in use by students during the school day, it will be collected by the teacher and brought to the front office.
• A parent/guardian will need to come to school to pick up the WCD.
• Discipline can be issued for violating the School Board WCD policy, which may include an office discipline referral and a consequence as deemed appropriate by school staff and the Student Code of Conduct.

Attendance

• Consistent attendance at school is critical to the academic growth and achievement of our students.
• Reducing truancy and chronic absenteeism is a major focus for our school and the district.
• “Pop up” attendance celebrations will occur throughout the year to recognize students for being in school.
